Goodman Ntandazo Vimba Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent
The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) has appointed Goodman Ntandazo Vimba as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). MISA is an agency within the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs which provides technical support and builds capacity in local government for municipal infrastructure and basic service delivery.Vimba has acted in the CEO position since 2016. Prior to this, he was the Head of Technical Support within MISA.
Vimba is an admitted attorney with a Master's of Law in Mercantile Law from the University of Pretoria. He also completed an Executive Leadership Development Programme through the North-West University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts at the University of Johannesburg, among other postgraduate qualifications. He obtained a BProc degree at the University of Transkei in 2000. He joined MISA at its inception in 2012 as the Chief Director for Legal and Contract Management Services, where he successfully established a legal services unit. Prior to joining MISA,Vimba was the provincial Head of the Technical Support Unit in the Eastern Cape under the national Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
As CEO,Vimba is responsible for the deployment of District Technical Support Teams to 55 of the 87 priority distressed municipalities to provide support, which will ensure that municipalities spend their infrastructure grants. He will also ensure that municipalities are supported by 150 young graduates from
MISA.
