Good­man Ntan­dazo Vimba Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, Mu­nic­i­pal In­fra­struc­ture Sup­port Agent

The Mu­nic­i­pal In­fra­struc­ture Sup­port Agent (MISA) has ap­pointed Good­man Ntan­dazo Vimba as its new Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer (CEO). MISA is an agency within the Min­istry of Co­op­er­a­tive Gov­er­nance and Tra­di­tional Af­fairs which pro­vides tech­ni­cal sup­port and builds ca­pac­ity in lo­cal gov­ern­ment for mu­nic­i­pal in­fra­struc­ture and ba­sic ser­vice de­liv­ery.Vimba has acted in the CEO po­si­tion since 2016. Prior to this, he was the Head of Tech­ni­cal Sup­port within MISA.

Vimba is an ad­mit­ted at­tor­ney with a Master's of Law in Mer­can­tile Law from the Uni­ver­sity of Pre­to­ria. He also com­pleted an Ex­ec­u­tive Lead­er­ship De­vel­op­ment Pro­gramme through the North-West Uni­ver­sity and a Post­grad­u­ate Di­ploma in Draft­ing and In­ter­pre­ta­tion of Con­tracts at the Uni­ver­sity of Jo­han­nes­burg, among other post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions. He ob­tained a BProc de­gree at the Uni­ver­sity of Transkei in 2000. He joined MISA at its in­cep­tion in 2012 as the Chief Direc­tor for Le­gal and Con­tract Man­age­ment Ser­vices, where he suc­cess­fully es­tab­lished a le­gal ser­vices unit. Prior to join­ing MISA,Vimba was the pro­vin­cial Head of the Tech­ni­cal Sup­port Unit in the East­ern Cape un­der the na­tional De­part­ment of Co­op­er­a­tive Gov­er­nance and Tra­di­tional Af­fairs.

As CEO,Vimba is re­spon­si­ble for the de­ploy­ment of District Tech­ni­cal Sup­port Teams to 55 of the 87 pri­or­ity dis­tressed mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties to pro­vide sup­port, which will en­sure that mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties spend their in­fra­struc­ture grants. He will also en­sure that mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties are sup­ported by 150 young grad­u­ates from

MISA.
