The lat­est Nis­san X-trail can be dis­tin­guished by a new “V-mo­tion” grille and bumper, re­vised head­lights with sig­na­ture day-time run­ning lights, and in­te­grated fog lamps, while the rear has LED boomerang tail­lights and a new bumper. It now also has at­trac­tive 17- and 19-inch al­loys and is avail­able in a new range of ex­te­rior colours.

How­ever, the big­gest changes in the up­dated model, now with the op­tion of seven seats, is in­side, with new styling for the steer­ing wheel (now D-shaped), and door fin­ishes. The con­sole wrap and seat fab­ric has also been up­graded to a plush ma­te­rial.the black leather trim has been en­hanced and now fea­tures white stitch­ing. The cen­tre con­sole and con­sole lid have also been im­proved. It also has an ar­ray of Nis­san In­tel­li­gent Mo­bil­ity fea­tures; su­per-smart, yet un­ob­tru­sive tech­nol­ogy that makes a dif­fer­ence with­out the oc­cu­pants con­sciously be­ing aware of it.

Among the in­tel­li­gent fea­tures for the new X-trail are sys­tems such as In­tel­li­gent Blind Spot In­ter­ven­tion, Lane In­ter­ven­tion, Cross Traf­fic Alert, Emer­gency Brak­ing, For­ward Col­li­sion Warn­ing, Auto Head­lights, and Around-view Mon­i­tor with mov­ing ob­ject de­tec­tion.

The lat­est model range, avail­able with 2-litre and 2.5-litre petrol or 1,6-litre tur­bod­iesel en­gine, comes with the Nis­san 6-year/150,000 km war­ranty, a 3-year/90,000 km ser­vice plan, and 24hour road­side as­sist. Pric­ing starts from R369,900 for the 2.0 Visia; R392,900 for the 1.6 dci Visia 7-seater; R425,900 for the 2.5 Acenta CVT 4WD; and reaches up to R469,900 for the 2.5Tekna CVT 4WD 7-seater.
