PROMISING SPORTY STELVIO

-

New Model Updates

Named after the Stelvio Pass (the highest mountain pass in Italy with more than 75 hairpin bends over a length of 20 km), Alfa Romeo’s first SUV (recently launched locally) rings in a new era for the Italian automaker.

Riding on the Giorgio platform (also the base for the Giulia) with exemplary weight distribution, and powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (206 kw/400 Nm) combined with an 8-speed auto transmission driving Q4 allwheel drive, the new Stelvio delivers a thrilling driving experience, outstanding performance (0100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, top speed of 230 km/h) and sporty style.

It offers a superlative combination of driving pleasure, Italian styling, and versatility. In short, it looks, sounds, and goes like an Alfa Romeo should …

With traditional Alfa cloverleaf front, strong, taut lines on the side, and an attractive rear with dual sports exhausts, the Stelvio renders a new dimension in SUV styling.

Fit and finish is highquality too, the Giulia-like interior bedecked with premium leather and full grain wood featuring a slightly undulating dash and small, leatherwrapped steering wheel.

A clear TFT colour information display cluster and two rotary controls ensures easy use of the DNA selector (with and Dynamic, Natural, and Advanced Efficiency modes) and Uconnect system. Equipment levels are high, with an array of sophisticated safety systems available.

The Stelvio is available in Super and First Edition (already sold out) form, with the Super available for R810,000 and the First Edition for R946,000. Expensive, but when compared to rival BMW X3 models with similar specs, it represents quite good value for money.
