QASHQAI UPDATED
REVAMPED NISSAN CROSSOVER IS HERE
Nissan’s Qashqai, the best-selling urban crossover in Europe, is now available in South Africa, with significant exterior and interior revisions, and it now also rides, handles and steers better.
It has been improved with the addition of Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) technology, Intelligent Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Around View Monitor, Intelligent Cross Traffic Alert, and Moving Object Detection. These systems are standard in the top model, but optional for the rest.
Inside, there is a sporty new D-shaped steering wheel, and the door handles and air vents are finished in higher-quality materials. One-touch power windows are now available across the range, and the front seats have been redesigned to offer additional support.
The Nissanconnect sat-nav unit has a new user interface, a shark-fin roof antenna is now standard, and a premium Bose sound system is now available on the flagship Tekna model.
Exterior updates include an integrated new front bumper and “V-motion” grille, halogen lights with new “boomerang” Daytime Running Lamp signature, and a redesigned clam-shell bonnet and rear bumper.
However, it is the ride quality and handling of the Qashqai that has improved the most, thanks to retuned dampers, a stiffer anti-roll bar stiffness, and NIM Active Ride Control. Eight models are available, including two Cvtderivatives, and pricing varies from R334,900 for the 1.2T Vista to R434, 000 for the top-line 1.5 dci Tekna.
