Peugeot 208 Gt-line
The launch of the new Peugeot 208 GTLine marks the arrival of a revitalised flagship for the range with a host of premium quality, sporty equipment. Key features include new headlights, LED daytime running lights and repositioned fog lamps to give the new 208 Gt-line a wider, more emphatic look.a new bumper is linked to a wider, smoothly integrated grille, while the rear is dominated by the distinctive “claw’’ design of the tail lights. Inside, the icockpit is fully specced and distinguished by black and red sports seats, red detailing on the seatbelts, and a leatherrim multifunction steering wheel.
Its award-winning 1.2-litre Puretech three-cylinder engine delivers 81 kw and 205 Nm, giving the Gt-line a 0-100 km/h time of 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h. The updated 208 Gt-line 1.2 Puretech now retails for R259,900.
Honda Jazz Sport
Not to be outdone by the French competition, Honda has added the zesty new Sport as flagship model in the Jazz range, replacing the current Dynamic derivatives. It links new, more aggressive styling cues and a distinctive aero package to a new, more powerful engine featuring Earth Dreams technology.the 1.5-litre I-VTEC engine is a new addition to the Jazz range and delivers a healthy 97 kw and 155 Nm of torque.
The cockpit of the Sport has been revised with a Type R-inspired red accent theme, encompassing red stitching on the seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, sport pedals, an upgraded audio system, and pushbutton start system.
It also features an extensive array of standard luxury, convenience, and safety features and a full house of active safety systems.the new Jazz flagship is available in seven vibrant colours and retails for R310 000.
Hyundai Grand i10
With the discontinuation of the i10, Hyundai has recently rejuvenated the Grand i10 range with new features, and also added a new entry-level model.the revised line-up consists of six derivatives – three powered by the new 1-litre three-cylinder engine delivering 48 kw and 94 Nm of torque; and the others equipped with the 1.25-litre four-cylinder mill that produces 64 kw and 120 Nm of torque.the 1-litre derivatives are the 1.0 Grand i10 Motion (5-speed manual); 1.0 Grand i10 Motion (4-speed auto); and the 1.0 Grand i10 Fluid, also with the 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The derivatives with the more powerful engine are the 1.25 Grand i10 Glide (5-speed manual); and the flagship Fluid derivatives with 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto transmission.
Prices for the range start at R149 900 for the Grand i10 Motion (manual) and goes up to R206 900 for the 1.25 Grand i10 Fluid auto, only a R3,000 increase on the present top-of-the-line model. This also include a two-year/30 000 km service plan on the Fluid and Glide derivatives.
