The re­vamped Ford Ecosport cross­over is now avail­able lo­cally. Its pre­de­ces­sor that sold over 45,000 units, have been sold lo­cally since 2013. The re­vised best­seller now sports a new rec­tan­gu­lar grille, lower front va­lence, and new head­lights, as well as newly de­signed rear lights.

The Kuga-like de­sign of the new­comer, with a full-sized spare wheel on the rear door, is com­ple­mented by an in­te­rior sourced from the lat­est Fi­esta. It in­cludes a newly de­signed steer­ing wheel, a float­ing Sync 3 in­fo­tain­ment screen (6,5-inch on Trend and eight-inch on Ti­ta­nium vari­ants) with Blue­tooth and voice-con­trol fea­tures, more safety fea­tures (in­clud­ing Roll Sta­bil­ity Con­trol in the Ecoboost mod­els), and 334 litres of boot space.

Three trim lev­els – the en­try-level Am­bi­ente with 16-inch steel wheels, mid-spec Trend with gun­metal 16-inch al­loys, and the flag­ship Ti­ta­nium with 17-inch al­loy wheels – are of­fered. The Trend is avail­able with a 1,5-litre tur­bod­iesel (74 kw and 205 Nm of torque) and five-speed man­ual gear­box, while a 1.0-litre Ecoboost en­gine (92 kw and 170 Nm) is avail­able in all the de­riv­a­tives. The petrol mod­els are avail­able with a six-speed man­ual or six-speed au­to­matic trans­mis­sion.

Pric­ing range from R264 500 for the 1,5-litre Trend diesel, R287 500 for the 1,0-litre Ecoboost Trend man­ual, R300 700 for the auto model, and up to R339 900 for the Ti­ta­nium auto de­riv­a­tive. All mod­els come stan­dard with a four-year/120,000 km war­ranty, four-year/60,000 km ser­vice plan, three-year/un­lim­ited dis­tance road­side as­sis­tance, and five-year/un­lim­ited kilo­me­tres cor­ro­sion war­ranty.
