SHAME ON MANKIND FOR VILE INDIFFERENCE

-

IT IS heartbreaking that it took the tragic death of 3-year-old Syrian toddler Aylan Kurdi, and now the plight of 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh, to massively jolt the conscience of the entire world.

These graphic images became global symbols: A symbol of the impotence of the Muslim world and how cheap Muslim blood has become today.

The Muslim world, all 56 nations, have been on auto-pilot amid this global crisis shaking the world. They remain deaf to the cries and agony of the Syrian people.

The death of baby Aylan Kurdi, and the plight of Omran, means nothing to them. They are merely statistics. Shame on the entire Muslim world. History will immortalise them for centuries to come. Their images will become embedded in our collective memory. The entire world is guilty of culpable homicide.

A blistering indictment of man’s inhumanity to man. The Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) now stands for the Organisation of International Cowards, for showing contempt and disregard for human life across the entire Muslim world. As a global society, we have acquired an immunity to painful tragedies. We sadly have reached the point where we cannot gauge danger any more. We are too disengaged to connect the dots between tragedy and its human impact.

We have been anaesthetised to the horrors of the brutal Syrian conflict – a war that has engulfed the entire Middle East. It’s shocking that heartbreaking tragedies no longer have the power to devastate us. We have developed a tolerance to tragedy.

Millions are dying, because aggressive wars are raging unabated around the world, and the horror explodes into our living rooms as we follow world events.

Sadly, we have become detached from death and destruction because it does not affect us. We are in denial as we witness innocent lives being butchered, killed, maimed and mutilated.

Millions are displaced, and little do we realise we are rushing headlong, plunging humanity towards annihilation. Shame on mankind for its indifference. The Lord’s wrath awaits mankind, and when it comes, the complacency will lead to mankind’s demise.
