Linden Italian spot looks set to rule the roast
Vegetarians are well-catered for too with the spinach and ricotta cannelloni and the parmigiana di melanzane (aubergines baked with tomatoes and cheese).
Everything is made from scratch with free-range and organic ingredients.
Being partial to gin, my curiosity was piqued by their range of London Dry Gin mixes: Giallo (lemon peel and elderflower blossoms), Verde (cucumber syrup and black peppercorn) and Rosso (raspberries and dehydrated orange juice), which I tried and loved. Aside from it being a welcome refreshing cocktail on what was a sweltering summer’s day, it was flavourful.
Other options include imported Italian craft beer, speciality teas, wines, coffees and soft drinks.
By this stage, I was debating whether I should try the dessert. While I do have a sweet tooth but what I didn’t have was any more room… or so I thought until I laid eyes on the Nutella chocolate mousse with orange zest. Resist I could not. It was so decadent, I managed only a few spoonfuls.
Tiramisu, panna cotta and semifreddo are other dessert options.
With the meeting almost over, I headed home with a doggy bag of the stuff I couldn’t polish off.
Aside from the food hitting all the right notes with me and my tastebuds, the attentive service and Greenleaf ’s anecdotes made the lunch a truly memorable experience.
Best of all, the meals are affordable and won’t leave a dent in your wallet/purse.
I will definitely be back for another gastronomic feast – once I burn off the calories from this pig-out session.
