Developing intuition is learning to listen to your own advice

- ADELÉ GREEN

INSIDE us all is a pure and innocent child. From this role can we become better versions of ourselves?

This week’s question comes from Pam in Bloemfontein: “I read about intuition last week. Psychic people fascinate me. How do I develop intuition? I want to use it to predict what will happen, and to know what is best for me.”

Dear Pam, not everyone experiences phenomena like a near-death experiences, sees visions or has surprise experiences as children, according to Penny Peirce, who wrote The Intuitive Way. Intuition can be learned.

This is great news for you. I am a firm believer that developing intuition can heal us on the inside and close the separation between deep sub-conscious programming of the material world and the mysteries of spirit.

I have one reservation before I share my thoughts on how to access what I call women’s wisdom. Intuition is a currency like money, energy and beauty. What we use it for determines if it will be good or bad. To use intuition with the intention of making predictions like a psychic, comes with huge responsibility.

Every person has the ability to know about their own path. It is an in-born knowing we are all able to access and it is not just reserved for women or sensitive people. So by imprinting your opinions on others will give you a sense of power similar to the oneeyed leading the blind. In my opinion intuition flows based on how pure our intentions are when we use it. Be responsible and yours will develop. Be irresponsible and you will cultivate a warped sense of responsibility which you might have to answer for one day.

With that said, let’s explore how to access intuition through the language of omens, dreams and synchronistic events.

Look out for repetit ive messages. I had a ma g i c number three when I developed my i ntuition. If something showed up three times I knew to pay attention to it.

Information comes in many for ms: reflection, thoughts, phone calls, something someone says or what you’re reading at that very moment as you think of a question. It often happens within close proximity of asking an inner question. The messages I get will reflect the spirit of the information that I receive and is not always literal, but symbolic.

We are all different and how it works for me might not be how it works for you. Maybe you think in pictures, words or sounds. Maybe even feelings. How we think is often how the messages will show up as well.

Next, you’ll lear n when to pay attention to something when infor mation comes to you in this world of noise overload. It helps to keep an open mind and clear head. If you are supposed to pay attention to the message, the information will come more than once. I have a truth barometer. Messages like this can make your hair stand on end. For me it shows up as a spontaneous urge to be teary without feeling sad. I’ve noticed that my eyes water. This is an involuntary physical sensation which for you might be something that helps to recognise the truth.

When you can recognise what stands out in patterns, you still need to test it. What happens when you use the information?

To develop intuition you must listen to your own advice.
