Boks for Books opens eighth door

-

SOUTH African Rugby has launched its eighth Boks for Books library at a school in Mpumalanga, where the Springboks play their opening Rugby Championship Test against Argentina at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit today.

The launch, at the Sukumani Primary School in Matsulu, was attended by members of the SA Rugby leadership, and Springbok squad members Malcolm Marx, Franco Mostert, Trevor Nyakane, Morne Steyn and Olympic bronze medallist Francois Hougaard.

The library is fully stocked with books and includes a television and computer, Libwin library system, and furniture, all of it funded by SA Rugby.

“We’re delighted to launch our eighth Boks for Books library – the first in Mpumalanga,” said SA Rugby chief executive officer Jurie Roux.

“Mpumalanga is dear to our hearts, thanks to the deeprooted passion for rugby and the Springboks in the region.

“Our Boks for Books programme has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2013.

“This library is particularly special to this school because the nearest (public) library is almost 10km away.”

SA Rugby’s other Boks for Books libraries are at schools in Mdantsane, Port Elizabeth, Pinetown, Soweto, Paarl, Stellenbosch, and ThabaNchu. – ANA
