Airstrikes target Kurds
ISTANBUL: Fresh clashes erupted yesterday between militia forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Kurdish forces, backed by the US in their campaign against Islamic State, the pro-Kurdish Firat news agency reported. The clashes in Al-Hasakah, ongoing for most of the week, saw the Syrian Air Force conduct airstrikes against the Kurds for the first time in the civil war.
