was very tasty. I asked for mash and vegetables and strangely, the vegetables, besides a good slice of butternut and creamed spinach, also had roast potatoes in the mix, which were soggy from the gravy.
My guest ordered a grilledkingklip fillet with salad at R129. The piece of fish was thin and had batter. When asked, the manager insisted it was grilled, but could not explain the batter.
The salad was uninteresting and consisted of a few Iceberg lettuce leaves, a couple of onion rings and tomatoes and one, yes exactly one, olive. That too, went uneaten and, to fill himself up, he ended up helping me to finish my huge portion of lamb which he enjoyed.
The manager did offer to replace the meal, but this was declined.
The prawn curry at R110 was tasty, reasonably priced and declared the best meal of the day.
The fourth meal of eight queen prawns at R119 was also a let-down.
Although a good size and good value for money, the prawns had not been thawed properly and, as a result, the butter sauce was watery. They were not well-spiced and again accompanied the same uninteresting salad.
