OUR LEADERS FIDDLE AS THE COUNTRY BURNS

-

WE ARE in the midst of a monumental leadership crisis, and political uncertainty stalks the land. Major state institutions are rudderless, crime and corruption permeate the heartland of our beleaguered nation. Law enforcement institutions are in total disarray.

The present constellation of events will lead to chaos by the end of the year. There will be a political implosion that will spiral out of control.

The government’s focus on the “progressive” agenda of entitlement and cadre deployment is akin to Nero fiddling while Rome is burning.

President Jacob Zuma has to come to grips with reality on his own or with the help of a disgruntled fearful nation. He has to change direction to save the nation from both financial and political ruin.

Our way of life hangs in the balance and he must stop the platitudes and ideological rhetoric. We need dedicated leaders to govern the country. They must have an inner-mastery, a central, compelling purpose rooted in moral values, a capacity to persuade, skills in working within the system, a fast start, a strong effective team and a passion that inspires others to keep the flame alive.Failure is not an option.
