SWEDE Henrik Stenson has emerged as Sunbet’s early favourite to win this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player, to be played at Sun City’s Gary Player Country Club from November 9-12.

Stenson won the title in 2008 and has also finished runner-up three times. This year the tournament forms part of the European Tour’s prestigious Rolex Series of eight exclusive events each with a minimum prize fund of US$7 million.

In Sunbet’s Ante-Post odds (compiled from the Turkish Airlines Open and speculation. If a punter places a bet on a player and he fails to win, the person will be refunded their bet. These odds and markets may be subject to change without notice at Sunbet’s discretion), Stenson is an 8/1 favourite to win “Africa’s Major”.

Englishman Tyrrell Hatton is the next favourite at 11/1, while defending champion Alex Noren is 16/1.

Louis Oosthuizen is the leading South African favourite at 16/1, followed by Charl Schwartzel at 18/1 and Branden Grace at 20/1.

Sunbet is the official sports betting partner of the Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player. Spectators will have the luxury of quick and easy betting at a number of betting stations that are available around the golf course.

Punters can expect a broad range of betting markets comprising outright bets, tournament match bets, threeball bets, top 10 and 5 players, hole-in-one bets as well as lowest round of the day.

Pre-tour nament bets afford punters the opportunity of getting fantastic odds on the predicted winner of the Nedbank Golf Challenge as illustrated by Danny Willet’s 25/1 odds in 2014, Marc Leishman’s 66/1 in 2015 and Alex Noren’s 20/1 in 2016.

“The Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player, is one of the highlights of the South African sporting calendar and we’re certainly looking forward to an exciting tournament,” said Jonathan Kahn, Sunbet’s General Manager: Sports Betting.

“With all of the top players in attendance, betting on the outright winner is sure to be a challenge but there’s also a host of alternative bets that offer great value such as the round leader for the day and the top 10 and 5 players.”
