Bail for five accused of killing former crime intelligence cop
FIVE suspects who were arrested in connection with the murder of former crime intelligence Major-general Hendrick Mogoerane were each granted bail of R10 000 by the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Among them was his wife, Cordelia Mogoerane.
Three others were denied bail. Magistrate Prince Manyathi said the five would remain behind bars until their bail was paid.
Eight suspects were arrested last week after being positively linked to the Mogoerane murder.
His body was found on the back seat of his car in Norkem Park, east of Joburg, in January.
Investigators were awaiting the post-mortem results to determine the cause of death as no visible injuries were found on his body. Mogoerane worked at the police’s head office in crime intelligence before retiring last year. – African News Agency (ANA)
