Jumping in and showing their true winning colours

-

IN THE first inter-schools Equestrian competition of the year, the Saints Boys’ College team did particularly well in the show-jumping events:

In the 1.2m competition over two rounds, Harry Butcher took both the 1st place on Devious Suzie and 2nd place on Alzu Safari.

In the 1.2m speed event over a tough course of one round, only one rider (Kristi Fourie from the Girls’ College) jumped clear to win the event, while Harry knocked one pole to take 4th place.

In the 1.1m competition, Harry competed for the first time on his new horse, Capital Contact, and jumped clear in 30.81 seconds to take 2nd place.

In the 1.1m speed class, Harry and Capital Contact set a fast pace early in the event and no one could beat their time, so they took 1st place.

Saints also took the honours in 90cm competition which went right down to the wire with Piper Crow from the GC taking first place.

Harry also took two further 2nd places in other events.
