A New Addition

This summer, Franschhoek’s La Paris lifestyle estate adds a luxurious boutique hotel to its portfolio, promising the finest attention to detail and unparalleled personal service. The hotel is the latest addition to the family-owned estate, which already offers the commended La Paris Bistro restaurant and a selection of magnificent wedding and function venues.

The estate is set on the mountain slopes of the wine valley, and with the launch of the La Paris Hotel, its hospitality now expands to welcome guests to stay on the property overnight and longer. It is a bold step for a property which just four years ago was only beginning to open to the public. It has transitioned from being a family home to a lifestyle estate, welcoming wedding guests at first, growing the lush gardens to manicured perfection, and then welcoming diners at the Bistro restaurant for the past two years.

The hotel was built with an ethos of minimal disturbances to nature, a commitment to use local products, and choices delivering uncompromising luxury to guests. To achieve this, the hotel suites have been built amongst and between the tall trees of the estate.

Suites are furnished to create a tasteful, modern look, incorporating woods, suedes and leather, beautiful velvets and linens. The hotel designers set out to build these suites for opulence, functionality and comfort, inspired by vineyard homes in Napa, California, and by the design apartments of Spain and France. The result is sumptuous, with dashes of colour, plenty of wood and vibrant lighting. Colour pallets are unique to each suite, and across the different size and amenity levels, no two suites are the same.

Each is air-conditioned, boasts deluxe pillow-top beds, luxurious cotton sheets and custom-designed furniture items in the finest fabrics. The designers sought out local furniture craftsmen and women who could make pieces fitting their vision from locally sourced materials.

Beyond the bedrooms, the suites have large luxury bathrooms with walk-in showers, free-standing baths and dual vanities, and outdoors they have private garden areas. Particularly plush bathrobes and slippers are waiting in each bathroom, and complimentary luxury bathroom amenities are provided.

It’s a beautiful and tranquil short walk from the suites to the estate’s Bistro where breakfast – included in the suite package – is served from an à la carte menu. The Bistro will also offer lunch to guests, while room service is also available as an option.

Of course the estate’s location in Franschhoek ensures a selection of some of the world’s best restaurants just a few minutes’ drive from the estate, throughout the Franschhoek valley.

For summer months the estate has a decidedly outdoorsy feel. The expansive outdoor pool is set among high hedges, making it very private. It offers plush loungers and umbrellas, and is served by the Bistro restaurant and bar. Among the wild orchards and hedges there is also an outdoor tennis court with complimentary rackets and gear for guests. But the true charm of the estate’s outdoor offering is its gardens and walking paths. Manicured lawns, neatly pruned rose gardens, trimmed hedges, forests of tall trees and a beautiful garden surrounding the property’s large dam are a treat to explore.

After a day outdoors, or just for pampering, a selection of divine in-room massages and treatments can be booked for the ultimate relaxing experience.

The La Paris Hotel meets the standard for luxury properties by offering thorough daily housekeeping, providing complimentary bottled water to each room guest, an in-room kettle and coffee machine with complimentary coffee pods, plus a hairdryer, telephone, in-room safe and a mini-bar fridge.

The La Paris Hotel promises pampering, attention to detail, the finest quality furnishings and appointments, a deeply restful sleep, and the tranquillity of a beautiful lifestyle estate.

As an added benefit the estate is located only two kilometres from a world-renowned Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.

The hotel is open and bookings can be made at www.laparis.co.za. Alternatively, you can call La Paris directly on +27 21 867 0171.
