An Experience for Everyone

Nuy Winery opened their showcase venue and restaurant, Nuy on the Hill, in December 2015 and it has since grown from a pit-stop to a must-stop destination. As the name suggests, Nuy on the Hill is located on a slight elevation alongside the R60 between Worcester and Robertson, right next to the Nuy Valley turnoff.

Situated in the picturesque Nuy Valley, Nuy Winery has built their legacy on masterfully crafted wines inspired by their exceptional terroir and fine winemaking skills. It is also this inheritance of excellence on which their wine selection is based. Nuy Winery is keeping up with industry trends by recently adding two craft gins to their profile.

As befits craft culture, these hand-crafted gins are created in small batches of 2,500 bottles of the Nuy Mastery Craft Gin and only 1,000 bottles of the limited-edition Nuy Legacy Craft Gin. Wine and Spirit Ranges

Their selection of wines and spirits includes the Inspiration, Mastery and Legacy ranges.

The Inspiration range offers a wide choice of affordable, quality chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, and two popular bubblies – an off-dry sauvignon blanc and sweeter muscadel.

The Mastery range will treat your palate to the more complex flavours of chardonnay, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and pinotage, with Nuy Mastery Craft Gin as the new addition.

Nuy Winery’s flagship range, Legacy, consists of a wooded chenin blanc, cape blend, Nuy Celine MCC, their celebrated barrel-aged red Muscadel and the everpopular Nuy Copper Potstilled Brandy. Now, Nuy Legacy Craft Gin limited edition has been added to this profile.

The wine ranges features a label combining the coats of arms of neighbouring Worcester and Robertson with a depiction of Nuy on the Hill in the background. Winemaking

Nuy Winery has had only three cellar masters since its establishment in 1963. They were all well-travelled and they gleaned experience from wine regions in France, Germany, Australia and America. Each individual showed and still shows true commitment to the art of wine-making to produce only the finest wines.

“Every year we try to bottle the best wine of every vintage to reflect the uniqueness of the Nuy Valley,” says current cellar master, Christo Pienaar.

With the cellar being located slightly off the beaten track, Nuy Winery saw the need for a specialist venue closer to the popular R60 route and thus, Nuy on the Hill was conceptualised. Their idea was not only to make their product more accessible to the general public and specifically the R60 passerby, but also to match the fine wine experience with a perfect balance of delicious food set in a relaxed atmosphere.

Building began on 8 June 2015. Wood and stone elements were used in keeping with the natural surroundings, complemented by a breath-taking view across the Nuy Valley vineyards. The area surrounding the venue was protected during the building process to conserve the natural fauna and flora.

The venue features a tasting room, a deli and a top restaurant run by Danette Thompson and Chef Wilna van der

Westhuizen. A spacious, glass-sheltered patio surrounded by lush green lawn provides ample indoor and outdoor seating for patrons to treat themselves to a wide choice of restaurant dishes. These dishes range from tapas, woodfired pizzas, hamburgers, salads, steaks and mouth-watering desserts, to a selection of Banting dishes. Deli, Picnic and Family-friendly Venue

The deli is stocked with a variety of preserved products, home-brewed coffees, freshly baked breads and speciality pastries. Patrons are invited to enjoy their purchases either as a takeaway, or in a picnic setup, while keeping an eye on the kids conquering the new jungle gym. Nuy on the Hill is a petfriendly venue, so your four-footed kids are also welcome to enjoy the shaded outside seating, provided they’re on a leash. Mountain Bike Route

A mountain bike route is also on offer and cyclists are welcome to make use of the washing station and showers on the premises. Function Venue
