SAY CHEERS!

First of all, let me send a shoutout to Bafana Bafana for humiliating the Seychelles to clinch the lovely three points that were on offer in style. We need such great performances in every game that we play. Don’t look back now, boys! Oh, may I ask the SABC to stay away from broadcasting Bafana’s games forever? I mean, I suspect that they are the reason why the national team performed so badly before. The saga between the SABC, SAFA, not forgetting the PSL… really annoying! The public are always encouraged to pay their TV licence, but I wonder why I should comply with such. They take us for granted! Ofentse Kakapa Mahatlhe, Schweizer-Reneke Let me congratulate Bafana for a convincing win against the Seychelles. Credit must be given where it is due, Bafana were on fire and their mindset was superb. Our captain, Thulani Hlatshwayo, was in control of his troops and his contribution was a plus to the team. The whole team was willing to die for our national badge and we really need this kind of attitude and performance if we want to qualify for the next World up. Great win, right attitude. Halala, Bafana Bafana! Madimetja Vic Mashamaite What a win for Bafana Bafana over the weekend. Our team was in control of the proceedings and dominated all the corners of the field until the last whistle of the game. However, I was so disappointed with what was done by SABC Sport for not televising the game, instead repeating the MTN8 final. I hope the Sports Minister and his delegation will meet with the executive members of SAFA and try to resolve the matter as soon as possible. We want to see our national team games televised. Once again, to our boys, keep up the good work. Thanduxolo Tsenene, Motherwell, PE Even though the Seychelles are minnows, South Africa showed no mercy and were clinical on the day. They knew how goal difference can kick you in or out of qualification. People are still crucifying Stuart Baxter and his lads despite that win and I don’t blame them. We have been a laughing stock for quite some time now and it’s high time everyone starts pulling up their socks. The supporters deserve much better than what they have been subjected to. We will definitely qualify and I hope they won’t embarrass us next year at the AFCON. We are not going there to settle for a reasonable spot, but we need to instil a winning mentality during tournaments. Silver and bronze is not what we want, sorry. Obakeng Nkadimang, Kuruman One can’t read too much into the score line from Saturday afternoon’s qualifier against the minnows in the Seychelles. Before Tuesday’s game, all we had to do was to collect at least seven points in three games. We are now left with two games… Roger Stemele, Alice Bafana Bafana’s big win against the Seychelles is the kind of statement we need to send when playing against these minnows. At the time of writing, we sit atop the group and expecting no favours from any team. I hope the boys will go on and finish this great job they have started. Siyabonga Nkalambela, Delft Coach Stuart Baxter is no stranger to breaking records. After breaking records in the domestic league, he went straight to our national team and became the first coach in history to beat Nigeria in an official game. Over the past weekend, he once again broke a brand new record when he led our national team to their biggest win ever as they walloped the Seychelles 6-0. Baxter is also the first coach in the history of our country to employ his son as the goalkeeper coach. Hmm, that’s another record. As long as he keeps on doing great things, I don’t mind him breaking as many records as possible. Hail Stuart Baxter, hail Bafana Bafana. Vuyisile Bovu, Mncuncuzo, Cofimvaba Good result for Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter and his players, thumping the Seychelles 6-0 at FNB Stadium in the 2019 AFCON qualifier, which led us to the summit of the group standings with seven points from four games. It was a good showing from all the players; they played according to instructions and I am happy for them. I was not happy after discovering that the game wouldn’t be shown on TV by the public broadcaster because of some disagreement with SAFA. I think SAFA need to smoke the peace pipe with SABC because we are the ones who suffer the consequences as supporters. SAFA and SABC don’t care about us. Our own senior national team not being shown on a local TV station is a disgrace to the nation. Nemusunda Mmboniseni, Thabo Mbeki Village
