CHIEFS’ MACUFE COUP

-

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate Amakhosi for ending their trophy drought. I would also like to extend my congratulations to coach Giovanni Solinas and his technical team. Chiefs’ starting XI showed that they were desperately looking forward to win this Macufe Cup to redeem themselves. Europe returnee Lebogang Manyama was on fire on the day. I think it’s time Solinas considers him for a starting berth in the team’s future games. I hope the Amakhosi faithful will be patient with the coach because he has already proven himself with the Macufe Cup, after the team failed to clinch the Shell Ultra Helix Cup before the beginning of the season. Lastly, I would like to congratulate Bafana Bafana for beating the Seychelles, but they must know that we are not yet at the tunnel on the road to Cameroon. Aphane JM Libangeni, Vaalbank, KwaNdebele I don’t want to lie and say that I am happy because my team Kaizer Chiefs won their third consecutive Macufe Cup title. If it was that important, Steve Komphela would have been the man in charge of Amakhosi on Sunday as he lifted two of them during his spell with us. What made me happy was to see towering defender Mulomowandau Erick Mathoho back in the starting XI. I think he has learned from his mistakes and I would like to see him start in the Telkom knockout game against Black Leopards at FNB on Sunday. Maybe this time we won’t see many red cards and schoolboy errors from him because these, coupled with injuries, are holding his career back. Welcome back, Tower.
