We have to win this trophy

“First of all, we’re playing at home against Chippa United and we have to win the game to put ourselves in a better chance of progressing in the competition. Secondly, we have not won any piece of silverware in a very long time. It is not going to be an easy game but the coach, his technical team and the players are aware of the importance of winning this game and possibly winning the trophy. This Telkom Knockout gives coach Micho and his players a chance to create their own legacy at the club so that they can be remembered as one of the successful teams we’ve ever had. That will make us supporters very happy. It is very important for us to do well in this competition as, unlike in the league, there’s no second chances. You lose, you’re out and I hope Micho and the boys will continue to make us happy and make sure that Pirates goes into the next round of the competition. At the end of the day, it is very important for coach Micho to win something, not only for himself but for the supporters who have been rallying behind the team all along. Like I said, we have not won anything in a long time and I have full confidence in Micho and the boys that they will change all of that. He’s my countryman and friend and we will come in our numbers to ensure that they feel our support. We have to win this trophy and I wish our coach everything of the best. He must know that we are all fully behind him and the team because, like I said, we need this trophy desperately in our trophy cabinet. I hope he’s not going to disappoint us because we trust and believe in him. We believe he will be the one to change our fortunes because he’s been doing a really good job since taking over at the club. Dr Irvin Khoza didn’t make a mistake when he decided to give Micho the job and everyone associated with Pirates will be rallying behind Micho and the boys.”
