Europe on the cards for Meyiwa?

-

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Wiseman Meyiwa, is being linked with a move to Europe as he approaches the expiry of his contract.

Chiefs have not initiated talks with the 18-year-old, despite the reports that his current contract with the club will expire next year, on June 30, 2019. As a result, the Siya crew has been informed that the player’s camp are looking to secure the South African youth international a move abroad.

Meyiwa has made just two appearances for Chiefs this season, having fallen down the pecking order, with the Soweto giants currently spoilt for choice in their midfield department.

According to sources, there have been talks about a possible exit from Naturena for the player, with the midfielder keen to gain regular game-time elsewhere.

A source added that talk about a move to Europe is also believed to be on the cards, with the young midfielder believed to have ambitions of plying his trade abroad.

Chiefs, however, could still offer the teenager a deal and secure his long-term future, though the fact that he could move on a free would be enticing for suitors in Europe.

Meyiwa could be the next South African youngster heading to Europe, in the new generation of Mzansi footballers making a name for themselves abroad, including the likes of Luther Singh, Lebogang Phiri and Lebo Mothiba - amongst others.
