Bucs tracking Tade?

-

AmaZulu’s Argentinean striker Emiliano Tade has hit the ground running with the Durban-based club - in his debut PSL season - and indications are that there is interest in the player from Orlando Pirates.

Tade was signed by AmaZulu for the 2018/19 season and, while players coming from abroad often take time to adapt to the PSL’s tempo, Tade has adapted with ease. Testament to his acclimatisation is that he has already scored three goals from his nine starts in all competitions for the side.

The striker has been one of coach Cavin Johnson’s most influential players so far in the campaign, with Siya sources indicating that he has made it onto Bucs’ list of potential targets.

The 30-year-old, however, is under contract with AmaZulu, having signed a two-year deal on his arrival, and Bucs would have to buy him of his contract if they were to add him to their roster.

If the Soweto giants do pursue the striker, he could sign as early as January - during the January transfer window - though at this stage Siya sources have indicated that there has been no official approach for the player’s signature.

The Buccaneers could look to use their good relationship with Usuthu to lure Tade to their club. Bucs currently have Thembela Sikhakhane at AmaZulu on loan for the 2018/19 season, while former Buccaneers, Marc van Heerden and Mbongeni Gumede, are also currently with Usuthu.

Tade scored AmaZulu’s only goal against Bucs when the two teams drew their league match 1-1 at the King Zwelithini Stadium last month, and it has been suggested that he caught the club’s eye during that specific game.

At the age of 30, Tade will know that if he has to get a move to a big club in Mzansi, it has to happen sooner rather than later. The next few months will be telling for him. If he continues to show good performances, you can expect Pirates’ interest to escalate, though it will come down to Usuthu and whether they are willing to negotiate his transfer.
