On the weather conditions in Ghana

They are going very well. We played a friendly game against Ghana and we tried out different things, even though we lost. We didn’t play well in the first half, but we created more chances to go ahead by at least a goal or two going into halftime. But if you don’t win and you’re happy with the performanc­e, then you kind of get hope that whatever you are planting is coming out nicely. We even substitute­d our captain and gave a cap to one of the new players, Amanda Mntande. We had to try out all players because we might need all of them in the tournament. You never know what’s going to happen as the tournament goes on. It was a well-blooded exercise and the good thing was that we played at the stadium where we will be playing our last group game. We played at night also, so it was a very good exercise for the girls.

Fortunatel­y, Ghana are not in our group, so that is why we decided to play the friendly against them. They were once the champions and they have the home advantage, so you cannot underestim­ate them. We have done everything in terms of preparing. We trained once on Monday because we were preparing for our first game against Mexico. We believe in having everyone relaxed
