He never wanted to lose against Chiefs Joseph Makhanya – Former Orlando Pirates winger

“When it comes to football talent, Tso was one of the best ever. He was a special player who always made things happen for the team. While most of us took about 15 touches to make things happen, Tso only needed two-three touches. He was a very good reader of the game and had great presence. He always kept it simple and sometimes would be so quiet and the next thing you see the ball hitting the back of the net, from nowhere. It takes a really intelligen­t player to do some of the things he used to do. You play a high ball to him, as short as he was, he knew exactly where the ball would land and he would even beat taller players to aerial balls and leave everyone wondering how he managed to do it. Funny enough, Tso was someone who didn’t like training at all, ha, ha, ha, but put him on the field and he will do unbelievab­le things. Playing for Orlando Pirates meant a lot to him. You know, what surprised me the most about Tso is that he grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs until he started playing for Pirates. The next thing we knew, Chiefs was one team Tso never wanted to lose against! Give Tso a Soweto Derby and you will see the best of him; in fact, I think he was always one of our standout performers in all the derbies he played. He never wanted to see Pirates lose against Chiefs. For him, playing for Bucs meant a lot and you could see that whenever he put on that Black and White jersey he knew what playing for Pirates meant. He was somebody who always wanted to leave a mark whenever he played for the team. He always wanted to score, win games and keep the Pirates supporters happy. While we were busy dribbling the opposition, Tso would be standing and waiting for the ball so that he could score. He didn’t care about dribbling – all he wanted to do was to score.”
