EYMAEL LINKED WITH LEOPARDS COACHING ROLE

-

Luc Eymael parted ways Free State Stars on Monday, following the 1-0 loss to SuperSport United over the weekend. It was the club’s seventh loss of the season and, with the club sat in ninth place on the Absa

Premiership after the weekend’s round of football, it is believed that Stars’ management made their feelings known.

Indications are that Stars’ management were not satisfied with the club’s latest string of poor results.

Speaking to the Siya crew on Monday, Eymael confirmed that he had severed ties with the club, on mutual agreement. “I have had a meeting with the club and an agreement has been reached to terminate the contract. It was a mutual agreement,” Eymael said.

Only two days after his exit from the Bethlehem-based side, Eymael is being linked with a move elsewhere. The Siya crew has been informed that Black Leopards has shown an interest in the former Polokwane City coach and could make a move for his signature.

Lidoda Duvha are currently without a head coach, after the club parted ways with Joel Masutha earlier in the week. Following Leopards’ 3-1 loss against Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium over the weekend, Masutha exited the Limpopo outfit.

In an official statement issued by the club on Monday, Leopards confirmed that Masutha resigned from his position.

Two independent sources confirmed the news with the Siya crew, with the one source stating that the coach’s name has been added to the mix.

“Luc Eymael’s name has been discussed about a potential coaching role at Black Leopards. The coach seems to be having a good relationship with Leopards from the days of his countryman Jean Losciuto when he worked as the club’s head coach,” said the source.

The second source confirmed the news, “Yes, it’s true, there is interest, but nothing has been officially discussed.”

Eymael guided Ea Lla Koto to a sixth-place finish on the Absa Premiership log last season and won the Nedbank Cup, while also qualifying them for the CAF Confederation Cup, though this season was unable to appease the Stars management.
