SUPERSPORT TO EXTEND GABUZA’S STAY

-

The Siya crew has it on good authority that SuperSport United are set to exercise the option on striker Thamsanqa Gabuza’s current deal with the club.

Gabuza has reignited his professional career since joining the Tshwane outfit from Orlando Pirates in 2019, in what was a surprise move at the time.

Alongside the club’s leading goalscorer Bradley Grobler, Gabuza has been one of the star performers for the Tshwane giants and helped the team to the 2019 MTN8 title. At the time, Gabuza penned a two-year deal with Matsatsantsa a Pitori, who have an option to extend it even further, and according to Siya sources, SuperSport are intending on doing just that.

Contacted for comment, the club’s CEO, Stan Matthews, confirmed that the club have every intention of holding onto the 33-year-old before his current deal expires at the end of the season.

“Gabuza has an option in his contract, which is only due to be exercised by May. He has done well for us and we are looking to retain him. He is currently injured for three-four weeks,” Matthews told the crew.

Gabuza has scored six goals and provided two assists, having played 20 matches in all competitions for coach Kaitano Tembo’s side this campaign (before Tuesday’s fixture against AmaZulu FC).

‘TIGHT’ REACHES SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH TTM

News reaching the Siya crew is that Joseph ‘Tight’ Molangoane has resolved his financial matters with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.

The former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs player was unveiled by the club before the start of the 2020/21 season, but left without even kicking a ball due to differences between him and the club.

There were financial disagreements after his exit as he was seeking a settlement, with the matter being taken to the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber.

The 32-year-old returned to the club in December, but there was outstanding money he was still determined to get from the club.

According to the latest information received by the Siya crew, Molangoane and TTM have settled matters and the player is focused on doing well for the club on the pitch. The matter was with the PSL DRC, but has since been withdrawn, his representative Tshepo Mabona explained to the Siya crew.

“The matter of ‘Tight’ was withdrawn because we’ve signed a settlement agreement with the club, so all is good in that regard,” Mabona said when contacted by the Siya crew.

This comes at a time when things have taken a turn for the good at TTM, with players said to be happy with how things have been at the club since the arrival of new owner Dr Abram Sello.
