Turkish club still owed Chiefs

-

Kaizer Chiefs last week issued a statement dismissing local reports that the club could face yet another FIFA ban after failing to settle a long-standing debt.

It was alleged that the Glamour Boys were still owing Chicken Inn of Zimbabwe following the transfer of defender Teenage Hadebe to Turkish outfit Yeni Malatyaspor at the start of the 2019/20 season.

The claims would then suggest that Chicken Inn had managed to agree a sell-on clause with Chiefs in the event Hadebe moved on for a fee at any given point, which he subsequently did after spending only two years in the Premier Soccer League.

Although Amakhosi poured cold water on the suggestion that they could again be in trouble with the world governing body and risk a transfer ban, the Siya crew has been led to believe that Malatyaspor had also been stringing Chiefs along.

Information provided to Soccer Laduma by a high-ranking Amakhosi insider reveals that the Turkish outfit had not yet honoured their end of the bargain by the time the club issued a statement on the Hadebe saga with Chicken Inn.

The player had, in fact, since moved to the USA to join Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo in June 2021.

Chiefs are no strangers to being sanctioned by FIFA having been banned from signing players for two windows during the 2020/21 season for the illegal transfer of Madagascar international Andriamirado Andrianarimanana two years before.

Siya sources told the crew before going to print that the Soweto giants intend on paying Chicken Inn in full to avoid any confusion.
