Mashiane eyeing January move?

-

The Siya crew understands that Happy Mashiane could make a move in the coming months, with game-time being hard to come by at Kaizer Chiefs.

The Amakhosi development product was linked with a move away from the club during the recently-closed transfer window, but he has remained at Naturena. He was also said to be on his way out during the January transfer window last season – however, no move materialised at the time.

Stellenbosch FC were understood to have been interested in the left-footed star, as they were looking for a left-sided player. They ended up securing the services of Kgaogelo Sekgota, with Mashiane staying on at the Soweto giants, with the hope of convincing the technical team that he was worthy of a place in the starting line-up.

With the January transfer window a few months away, Soccer Laduma understands that there is a serious possibility that the 25-year-old will make a move, possibly on loan until the end of the season.

At this stage, it is unclear which clubs are an option for Mashiane, but indications are that there will be talks to ensure he makes a move that will benefit his career. After seeming to make progress at some stage, his career has somewhat stalled at the Glamour Boys, a situation that is of serious concern to the player and his camp.

The Tembisa-born star has not featured at all this season, only making it to the bench in two of the side’s matches this season, against AmaZulu FC and Stellenbosch FC respectively. Last season, under former head coach Arthur Zwane, he made 14 appearances.
