Change of heart at Sundowns with Sirino?

-

Indications are that both Mamelodi Sundowns and Gaston Sirino are having a change of heart regarding the future of the player at Chloorkop.

The Siya crew has been reliably informed that the Uruguayan has been seriously looking for a move away from the club in the last couple of months, but a recent change in his situation has given him hope that there is still a future for him at the Tshwane giants.

The South American got his first chance of playing this season a few weeks ago when he came on as a substitute and scored the equalizing goal that sent their Carling Knockout Last 16 clash against TS Galaxy into extra time. The Brazilians went on to lose the clash via a penalty shootout.

Since featuring in the Carling Knockout, Sirino has been given opportunities in the African Football League and, at the time of writing, was set to feature either on the bench or as a starter in the second leg of the semifinal against Al Ahly on Wednesday. Chances, therefore, are that he will get more opportunities to play in the DStv Premiership as the defending champions look to solidify their spot at the top.

Soccer Laduma recently reported that the 32-year-old is open to making an exit and there has been interest outside South Africa, but it’s believed that the skillful player will assess how things go over the next few months in the hope that things will keep on improving.

Sirino does give head coach Rhulani Mokwena more options in attack, especially with the hectic schedule the team has had in recent times, not to mention injuries to key players.
