Moerane on Chiefs’ radar?

-

Soccer Laduma has picked up on information that Kaizer Chiefs continue to search for a reliable left back and have reportedly zoomed in on Baroka FC’s in-form star Tebogo Moerane with the intention of bringing him to Naturena.

With the global mid-year transfer window due to open in January, this publication has been made aware of Amakhosi possibly making strong overtures to the Limpopo outfit in an attempt to lure the defender to their base.

The Siya crew has indicated that the Soweto giants continue with their attempts to rebuild the team, but the left-back position has been their Achilles heel for quite some time and Moerane has been identified as a likely candidate to plug that gap.

Although versatile Edmilson Dove can also be deployed as a left back and Sifiso Hlanti is the recognised player manning that position at the side, the Glamour Boys are planning for the long-term and it seems they feel Hlanti has grown long in the tooth and a progressive plan needs to be implemented.

Moerane appeared to have been a bit of a journeyman after hopping from one club to another, but he seems to have settled down nicely at Baroka and has been one of the outstanding performers this season.

The second-tier outfit has hit such an impressive purple patch under Dan Malesela that has seen them occupy second position on the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings, such that Bakgaga might be reluctant to let him go just yet.

But Siya sources are adamant that Chiefs are pushing very hard to see if they cannot get this deal over the line when the transfer window opens in January.
