Kudos to my beloved Chiefs for the win against Polokwane City. Whatagame!Ihaveneverseen Nkosingiphile Ngcobo commanding that midfield the way he did. Good performance. I should also praise the coach. Indeed, he is a tactician. One can see from the way we play now that something is being developed at Naturena. Ball rotation is better, awareness has improved, penetration from all angles has increased. Bvuma, good display, my boy. You are a good goalkeeper. If Ntseki had stuck with you, he wouldn’t have lost his job. Even though we were advising him, he disregarded our plea. All in all, slowly but surely we are getting there.

This past weekend, I took time to watch Chiefs play against Polokwane City. It was reported during the week that the team has improved after Johnson took over from Ntseki, but I beg to differ with that sentiment because from what I saw, this team is still far from becoming the Chiefs I know. Against Rise and Shine, they played the whole first half with only one shot at goal and their defending was awful. This team needs a proper striker. Since Chivaviro joined, he has done nothing. Ditto Gonzalez! I think they need to let him go. He is not a Chiefs type of player and management needs to hire a coach soon before it’s too late. Leponesa Chacha, Botshabelo

It was a good weekend for Chiefs after their backto-back victories against Swallows and Polokwane City. Bvuma also kept clean sheets in those games after not getting game-time in most of the matches. It will boost his confidence ahead of the last two encounters of the season against Richards Bay FC and Sekhukhune, and winning those games would be the cherry on top before the Afcon tournament starts. It’s a huge relief to us supporters after Khune was unavailable due to his off-field problems and Petersen was benched for his inconsistent performances. Johnson is slowly but surely finding the winning combination, which was a headache for the former coach Ntseki. I think if he can be given support by both management and supporters, he is likely to succeed. Moving on overseas, Son gave a Man of the Match performance in their win against Newcastle United. He provided two assists for the first two goals and capped his brilliant work by scoring the last goal. He tormented the Newcastle defence with his pace and dribbling skills. Tottenham Hotspur, in simple terms, outclassed Newcastle. After the interval, the visitors blundered as they resorted to route-one football, which was not effective at all. Unfortunately, they also missed some chances, especially in the first half. Bernard “Bra Ben” Tshukudu, Ga-Maria

Johnson seems to have stabilised the team. The performance is not yet where it is expected, but the boys look happy to play for the coach. With the negative publicity in the weeks gone by, winning games is the only way to rebuild confidence. After keeping two clean sheets, I believe it’s time for Bvuma to stake his claim for the number one jersey. The team is still poor in defending aerial balls in the box though and needs to work on that. The other downside remains a realiable finisher at the moment and this needs to be addressed in the upcoming transfer window period. Malesela “Dance” Boya, Kanana, Hammanskraal

A scrappy win away from home for my beloved Chiefs as we beat Polokwane City 1-0. It’s clear that we need a prolific striker in January because Chivaviro and Gonzalez are just not Amakhosi material. My question is, which striker can we sign in the PSL that can help solve our scoring conundrum? I honestly don’t see anyone locally that we can sign because the strikers on form are all contracted to their clubs and our team hardly open the
