AGENT SUSPECTS FOUL PLAY ON MBOKOMA

Sekhukhune United have parted ways with midfielder Zaphaniah Mbokoma after only six months with the club.

He joined prior to the start of the season with the aim of reviving his career, but after only three appearances in all competitions, a decision has been made to allow him to search for regular game-time elsewhere.

The player was signed under Brandon Truter before the Cape Town-born mentor was replaced by Lehlohonolo Seema in November.

Contacted for comment, Mbokoma’s representative, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, confirmed the latest developments.

“It is true that we have started a search for a new club for Mbokoma after he parted ways with Sekhukhune. We have had a meeting with club management and a settlement agreement was reached, and the player is now free to join a club of his choice. We are grateful to Sekhukhune bosses for being the good people that they are and for making sure that everything concerning the player was sorted amicably,” he said.

Despite the parties agreeing on a termination, the intermediary suspects lack of patience towards his client from certain individuals within the club.

“There is something strange that I have noticed though and it has to do with my players at Sekhukhune. Almost every transfer window, I get my players released from the club and I am wondering as to why. I know it isn’t anything to do with the bosses but other people within the club. I remember joking to Zaphaniah when he joined the club that he shouldn’t get surprised when his contract gets terminated along the way. It was my way of also motivating the boy to save money as much as he possibly could.

“It always happens, and there are two people who I know that could be behind it, and they are the club’s employees. I can count a few of my clients who have been at the club and the same thing happened, and among them is Luckyboy Mokoena, Justice Chabalala and Mzwanele Mahashe,” he concluded.
