SOWETO DERBY RECAP

-

Can the real Kaizer Chiefs coach please stand up. During the Soweto derby on Saturday, I saw some disturbing footage where Dillon Sheppard was sitting with his earphones on the bench. A clear indication that instructions were communicated to the bench. Is Calvin Johnson and his assistant just mere stooges? Does this perhaps explain why the club management is dilly dallying around the appointment of a new coach? Is this the reason why the team is suddenly obsessed with local coaches that do not have a pedigree of success? Is this all because someone wants to use these poor coaches as puppets? As for the game itself, Chiefs lost it from the bench. That bench was an eyesore to say the least. Congratulations to the Buccaneers and to their astute coach. George Sithole, Honeydew

Well-done Du Preez. Defenders let us down. We need to buy Pule from Pirates. Coach Johson; it’s clear that you have favourites because what happened with the team that played against Arrows?

They worked hard to play in the derby. The winning team should always start the next game. So, Duba and Mthethwa were supposed to start in the derby. That boy Zwane and Solomon (play with pace every time coming on as a sub) need game time, allow them to make mistakes the same way you allow your favourites to make mistakes; they will grow in confidence. You were not supposed to fiddle with the defence. Ngcobo was supposed to keep his spot. Mmodi is too casual. Our team was too tense in the derby because they didn’t play together in the previous game. Leon White, Gauteng
