MAKE YOUR POINT

THE DEADLINE FOR NEXT WEEK’S ‘MAKE YOUR POINT’ IS MONDAY, 10AM.

FAMILY BUSINESS

It’s a family business, so as fans why don’t we just stay out of it and stop supporting Kaizer Chiefs? As much as fans must understand that it is a family business, and Mr Kaizer Motaung Senior will never fire his children no matter how underperforming, just imagine how this must make the players feel. It seems they themselves should be intimidated to express themselves out of fear of losing their jobs, e.g. maybe Petersen is trying to tell Mr Johnson he doesn’t know to coach with all his tantrums but scared to say it straight. No wonder they play like this. Why are we watching or even buying their merchandise? It is clear that the Motaung family has made enough money; let’s go our separate ways.

Kaizer Chiefs as a football club must just be sold. This is the worst Chiefs team of all time. I don’t see them winning their last six games in the DStv Premiership and they will also not make the Top Eight. I’ve stopped supporting this team because I refuse to be associated with this kind of mediocrity. The less said, the better. Marvin Matseke-Mabula, Burgersfort, Leboeng Rutseng

RE: EDITOR’S COLUMN

As I was reading VeeJay’s column: “Khune’s Chiefs conundrum”, I kept asking myself if players can’t settle for administration or management positions rather than playing and remaining in the team as part of the squad. Players always say it’s not about the money, it’s about playing, especially for a player like Khune who only played for Chiefs. It would also help with smooth transition. But then again, like VeeJay alluded, it sounds like there was no consultation between the two parties. Chiefs, please, if you are to replace Khune, stay away from Magoola. The brother won’t play in the Carling Knockout and will still expect a salary and win bonuses. Maybe he should play in a League that is sponsored by a church. Even if the PSL were to be sponsored by Fly Emirates, alcohol is still being sold in aeroplanes, meaning everything links up in the end. That’s just hypocrisy. The corridor gossip about Samkelo Zwane being loaned out makes me sick. For me, I would prefer Zwane ahead of Maart, Castillo and Sithebe. He offers much more in attack with excellent long-range shooting technique. Maart has a poor shooting technique. So, we are not being called a good-for-nothing club but the “Influencers” now. Must we first go down to the First Division to win the league? That’s if we could even make it back. Our players have got no pride. Lucky Khunou, Rustenburg, Meriting

Quick One-Two’s

Congratulations are in order to Orlando Pirates on their league victory against AmaZulu F.C. However, a few notable concerns were observed during that match. Ill-discipline, loss of ball possession, careless and stray passes, accumulation of unnecessary yellow cards and playing to the gallery by some players. It is worth bearing in mind that Orlando Pirates shouldn’t be chasing second position, but first position. Unless we stop the tendencies mentioned above, we will not achieve our goals and successfully defend the Nedbank Cup. But again, we are the mighty Orlando Pirates and anyone writing us off does so at their own peril. We currently have a mountain to climb in terms of
