SHABBA PREPARES TO GO DOWN THE AISLE AGAIN
REVERED comedian Shonisani “Ashifa Shabba” Muleya has paid lobolo for his new love interest, businesswoman Wendy Chuene.
This follows reports of his divorce from his ex-wife and mother of his child Vhonani Neluvhalani last year, where the funnyman reportedly demanded his lobolo back from her family.
According to the rumour mill in the small township of Seshego, outside Polokwane, where Muleya’s new love hails, the radio show host has already paid half of the lobolo.
“Shabba loves Wendy and we can’t deny that. He just wants to make her his wife. They have not set a date but we all know here that it is going to be a big wedding,” said a friend of the comedian who did not want to be named.
The mole added: “Shabba is smitten, he loves Wendy and it also helps that she is a powerful businesswoman here in Seshego. They are happy together and Shabba is always around our neighbourhood to spend time with her.”
When Sowetan pressed Muleya for comment, he confirmed that he was getting married to Chuene but refused to go into details.
“Yes, I am getting married but why would you call me about these things so early in the morning? Please send me a detailed e-mail and I will respond,” he said.
It is believed that the former YFM and Capricorn FM host and Chuene have been dating for a while. Sowetan’s sister paper Sunday World reported in December that Muleya was finalising his divorce to the mother of his child after less than two years of marriage.
The paper reported that Neluvhalani, a law lecturer at Unisa, vacated their matrimonial home in Polokwane at the end of 2012.
