FIFI SPEAKS OUT ON FALLOUT AT LABEL
MOTSWAKO rapper Fifi Cooper says she left Ambitiouz Entertainment because she quarrelled about finances with her boss Kgosi Mahumapelo.
“I left because I had a lot of questions between me and my boss Kgosi about finances. There was a time that I got involved in an accident, and he didn’t wanna give me an advance,” she said.
“Every time I questioned him about funds, there would always be a fight.
“I have a child to raise and I cannot work for more than two years without seeing any progress.
“So that’s why I left, because I don’t feel like I was getting paid the way I should,” said the rapper.
The 26-year-old artist dismissed reports that she was fired because of misconduct, stating that it was actually her decision to leave. “I have always wanted to leave Ambitiouz, just like those other artists who wanted to leave because of the same thing, you don’t get paid,” she claimed.
She said she cut all ties with her former boss. “I don’t want to see that n **** , cause he ain’t loyal.
“I don’t have any relationship with that man and I don’t want one, that’s why I left his record label,” she said.
She said she would now be focusing on her new record label, Mo Cooper, and regaining her fans as she alleged the picture Mahumapelo had painted of her in the media was detrimental to her brand.
“This n **** has f ***** up my name; I have to regain my fans because he has painted me as a b **** in the industry,” she said.
“He has got lapdogs that are running around lying about me, it’s just a story that they planned. I will fight for what’s mine.”
This followed after reports emerged last week stating that Fifi Cooper, A-Reece and duo B3nchMarQ who were all signed under Ambitiouz had left, followed by reports that alleged Fifi Cooper was fired because of breach of contract.
Mahumapelo told Sowetan that Fifi Cooper was no longer under the record label but would not confirm or deny whether he had fired her or not. “Fifi did not resign. But she is not part of Ambitiouz,” said Mahumapelo.
