* Bidvest Wits are having to juggle their team with each passing match as they try to regain the lead in the Premier Soccer League with their upcoming African Champions League assignment in Cairo against Al Ahly. New Nigerian signing Chris Uzoenyi, who has been out of action for two years, is expected to get a debut on Wednesday against bottom side Baroka FC.

* Platinum Stars have won more games against Sundowns than the Champions have managed against them. The win count in their head-to-head clashes is 12-11 in Stars’ favour.

* Karim Bellarabi, who will play for Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League today, wrote himself into Bundesliga history last Saturday against Augsburg by scoring the 50,000th goal in the history of the German top flight.

* English clubs have agreed in principle to use goal-line technology in the Championsh­ip next season. The decision is likely to see the introducti­on of the same “hawkeye” technology that has been so successful in the Premier League since its approval in 2013. Officially known as the Goal Decision System, it uses high-speed cameras to track the trajectory of the ball from different angles.

* Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with both Milan clubs as uncertaint­y remains over his future. Should Wenger choose to leave North London, the Daily Star speculates that both Milan and Inter may be interested in his services.
