On Zuma and foreigners

I AM concerned about the way President Jacob Zuma is addressing the issue of foreigners. In South Africa, we are not xenophobic but we are against those criminals who sell drugs to our kids, especially Nigerians. I am appealing to the security cluster to raid Sunnyside in Pretoria. Why are foreigners very violent when we talk about drugs and illegal immigrants? Why are they armed with firearms, stones, sticks? My advice to the ANC is that they must deport illegals or else we must have refugee camps for them. Lastly, foreigners must respect us because South Africa does not belong to them. – Joe, Pretoria

On ANC succession

PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma wants to rule from home using his ex-wife. SA belongs to all of us, not just the Zumas. Cyril Ramaphosa is the most suitable man to take our beloved country forward. – Naledi Pule THERE is a vacuum of true, exuberant and strong leadership in SA. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma does not inspire as such, she sounds sleepy and sickly. – Anon IF JACOB Zuma wants the ANC to win the 2019 elections, he must forget about making his ex-wife president. If he does so, I will be the first one to vote for the opposition party. – Anonymous SHOULD Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma become the next ANC president at the coming ANC elective conference, the ruling party will be out of power after the 2019 national polls. – TM

On runaway crime

WITHOUT sounding politically incorrect, it’s sickening to read about unimaginable violent crimes committed by people daily. Can’t the government strategise on other ways of punishment that suit such crimes because the current punishments seem to be failing? Imprisonment does not seem to be a deterrent for brutal crimes. Our jails are full, and it’s like inmates are enjoying good, long holidays in prisons! – Zaza
