Most Downs MDC-winning players to be loaned out
Coach Notoane rebuilding his team
The tough competition in the first team of Mamelodi Sundowns will see many MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) players being loaned out to National First Division clubs.
Sundowns MDC coach David Notoane trusts that loaning out his reserve league winning players to the NFD teams might be the only solution for them to get game time.
“We have already loaned out Khayelihle Shozi and Siphelelele Mkhulisi to Black Leopards, and Ntando Ngubane to Royal Eagles. This helps them grow and they come back stronger than before,” Notoane said.
He added: “They [MDC players] have shown hunger to play at a much competitive level.
“We must give them a platform to play by loaning them out so that they will compete against the best.”
After winning the MDC championship in February, Notoane is now rebuilding his team for next season.
“We want to give new players an opportunity to play. Our Under-17 boys will be playing next season.
“We need more young players because for us it is not only about winning but it is also about nurturing young talent. Every decision we take we communicate it with coach Pitso [Mosimane],” the ex-Santos striker stated.
Percy Tau was loaned to Witbank Spurs early last year, before he returned to help Sundowns clinch the CAF Champions League and PSL titles.
