Final leg of Work Riders’ Challenge at Turffontein

- RACING EDITOR

IT is the third and final leg of this season’s Work Riders’ Challenge and Sam Mosia has a nice lead and some very good rides on the day so will prove a hard man to catch.

The pick of his rides look to be Bono in Race 2, Lady Lucinda in Race 7 and Phillydelphia in Race 8 but he can also win with a number of his other rides.

Trainer Weiho Marwing has his yard in fine form and Bono has been holding her form well enough to go close to taking the 1160m Maiden Plate.

This Philanthropist filly was a good third and only a length behind Casa De Var in January and the majority of the runners in her race have only modest form so it may that the first-timer Double Tap could be her biggest threat.

Playing Games has stable companion Fictitious and Gotoluvher to beat in Race 3 but is still a good ride for Mosia.

Mosia will also be aboard another Marwing runner in Race 7 as Lady Lucinda takes her place in a very weak field.

This daughter of Global One showed nice improvement when third behind One To Win at Turffontein in April.

That form looks decent enough and blinkers have been added which could do the trick.

The Paul Peter-trained Phillydelphia took on much stronger last week and after showing some pace fizzled out but she can beat some modest rivals and win the lucky last race.

Francis Semela is closest points-wise to Mosia and he also has some very good rides on this card.

His best two rides could be Gotoluvher in Race 3 and Houston Rocket in Race 5.

Gotoluvher has good form and could use her experience to an advantage as likely big danger Fictitious was a bit green on debut and will need to run straighter this time.
