Win over Stellies lift Lidoda Duvha

Mwape Musonda’s brace and a goal by Mumuni Abubakar for Black Leopards against Stellenbosch at Athlone Stadiumlast night set up a grand finale of the promotion playoffs on Saturday. Leopards’ 3-1 victory over the “Stellies” meant the club that will claim the last Absa Premiership berth will emerge from the round-robin tournament’s last fixture between Leopards and Baroka at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Leopards were the better side last night as they created many chances in the first 10 minutes with Sphelele Ntshangase and Musonda proving constant threats for the hosts.

Musonda broke the deadlock in the 38th minute and completed his brace on the stroke of half-time. Abubakar sealed victory for Lidoda Duvha midway into the second half.

Stellenbosch scored through Petrus Shitembi.

A win for Leopards on Saturday means goal difference will come into play in deciding who gets promoted to the Premiership.
