Unathi keeping herself busy off air
She’s busy working on her next album
Idols judge and musician Unathi Msengana always wanted to leave Metro FM’s breakfast show at its peak.
Msengana, who co-hosted The First Avenue with Glen Lewis for 10 years, left two-months ago. This was after a week after Glen Lewis had left Metro to join online radio station Touch HD.
Msengana’s departure fueled speculation that she was joining SABC’s Umhlobo Wenene FM or following Lewis to Touch HD.
However, Msengana was quick to point out that she was enjoying the break and not thinking about her next career move for now.
Now that she has time on her hands, Msengana is working on her upcoming album which will be released in August.
She has released a new single about love titled Nguwe. The song is a fusion of Afro-pop and soul. It presents a fresh sound that is different from her previous songs.
“It is a deep, sensual, and joyful love song. It is winter so it is a great time to get passionate about this thing called love.”
Msengana is also anticipating an exciting new season of
Idols that will feature guest judges such as artists Kelly Khumalo, Khaya Mthethwa, Donald and radio personality Phat Joe. The new season starts next month.
“The introduction of guest judges is wonderful and brings change with each episode because they are all so different.”
The former radio presenter is focusing on her hobbies such as road running. She has also been posting photos of herself showing off her tight and welltoned body.
