Bucs coach defiant
Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret’s days at the club could be numbered if the rumour mill about a possible return of former coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic is anything to go by.
Jonevret, though, is not fazed by the speculation and has been preparing his side for Saturday’s Carling Black Label Cup clash against archrivals Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium (3.30pm).
The last thing the Swede expected was to be confronted by rumours that he may not have a job after the Soweto Derby.

Jonevret insisted yesterday that he’s not worried about the speculation on his future.
“I think we are a good technical team and we can’t put our energy on things that we can’t control. So everyday we try to do the best we can,” he said.
“It’s the same about my future and I don’t care much. I’ve been in this business for long and the day I quit here, I want to say to myself ‘good work, Kjell, good work. You’ve done the best you could and you can step forward’.
“So I’m not thinking too much about that. I go to work everyday to do my best today and tomorrow,” insisted Jonevret, who joined Pirates in February on a three-year deal.
He, however, praised his players for keeping fit during their two-week break after a disastrous season.
“We could see when we had the medicals that most of them have worked hard by themselves. Most of them had a good vacation, so we could start on a high level,” he explained.
“Normally, where I’m from, we have a long pre-season and we don’t play a game like this after just two weeks. But the players are really looking forward to it and it should be fun.”
