Township entrepreneur moulding his own legacy
Lebogang Mokubela is an entrepreneur and owner of Lemok Group, a holdings company based in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria. The company consists of three divisions and one subsidiary, namely Lemok Digital Agency, Tatom, EBC Design Studio and Kasivators.
Lemok Digital Agency is a digital marketing agency that focuses on helping Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) define, engage and convert databases into customers using online marketing. Tatom is a printing company that specialises in promotional gifting and outdoor branding.
Kasivators is a brand activations company that helps brands cut through the nuances of the township market and effectively drive long-term sales.
EBC is a creative and animation design studio firm. Lemok Group owns a 30% stake in EBC. He established his company in 2015 but has already employed 20 people. He is also giving back the business knowledge he has to the community.
“My company has recently launched the Lemok Elevate Mentorship Programme where I have a group of seven aspiring entrepreneurs from various townships. We meet every second Saturday. I mentor them [in their various business endeavours],” stated the 2016 Standard Bank Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Prior to starting Lemok Group, he was a director at another marketing agency based in Fourways. While working there, he realised that the world of marketing was changing, hence his foray to establish a communications group that focuses in various digital aspects of messaging.
