Nepotism, an immoral act threatening SA

-

Nepotism is an immoral phenomenon that is threatening our country’s future. Nepotism devalues the importance of education, thus causing anger to unemployed graduates.

This is because students work hard to earn their qualifications with the hope of getting employed, but one act of nepotism destroys everything.

It kills the spirit of learning because those in power positions recruit their unqualified and incompetent friends and relatives to strategic positions, which lead to the downfall of everything.

One of the reasons our municipalities fail to deliver on their mandate is because of wrong people employed in positions of influence, and no one knows how they got their jobs.

They are not knowledgeable and have no capacity to deliver. It is not good for our graduates, our economy and the country at large.

If nepotism allegations levelled against former communications minister Faith Muthambi are anything to go by, she should be investigated.

A successful and productive country is one that takes care of its youths, and that’s the country that acts harshly against those accused of nepotism.

Nepotism demoralises the youth and paralyses the whole country.

Say “NO” to nepotism, it’s too dangerous! Melato Mphahlele, Zebediela
