Orlando Pirates will have to move fast to replace Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro who is leaving the club for the Middle East.

This is just one area coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic will be looking to fix before the league resumes in midSeptember.

Ndoro left yesterday for his medical at Saudi Arabian club, Al Faisaly, the same club that put in an offer for another Zimbabwean striker Khama Billiat of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pirates and Al Faisaly have reached an agreement for the sale of Ndoro but the deal is subject to the player passing a medical.

Sredojevic will remain with Thamsanqa Gabuza, Thabiso Kutumela and Ayanda Nkosi as striking options.

The transfer window closes in a week, which means Pirates will race against time to bolster their attack. Bucs had signed Nigerian striker Christian Obiozor after he was offered to them as a free agent. It later emerged that he’s still contracted to Enyimba.

Sredojevic refused to comment on a search for another striker and passed it on as management’s responsibility to find Ndoro’s replacement.

“I have put my full focus on the field of play. Management is doing everything possible in order for things to be sorted,” Sredojevic told the media after the match against Baroka.

The Buccaneers have secured a win against Chippa United and a draw against Baroka in their first two matches, but the Serb admitted that they are far from being the finished article.

“We are still a work in progress, ” Micho said.
