Don’t give up looking for jobs

-

I am shocked by the growing number of job seekers who have given up on looking for jobs.

Some reasons offered are:

● They have been looking for jobs for far too long.

● Others say applying for jobs without success is just a waste of money because job application costs are high (scanning, printing and faxing).

● There are no jobs in South Africa.

● Others say nepotism and corruption discourage them because to get a job you have to know somebody who knows somebody.

There are too many scams these days.

● They don’t get called for interviews. Having heard all the above reasons I just want to let you know that no one said finding a job is easy.

Many people submit a lot of CVs before they get jobs.

Try this today: ask five working people how they got their jobs and learn from them.

I once spent a few minutes with a person whom I regard as a scholar of life.

He once told me that for every “no” that you get, just know that there is a “yes” around the corner.

So to all discouraged jobseekers I would like to say to you all: Have a positive mindset; and get up and look for opportunities out there. I wish you the best of luck. Thebe Kgwetiane Maandagshoek, Limpopo
