Ajax Cape Town
The Urban Warriors managed to land the SA Under-20 captain, Tercious Malepe, on loan from Orlando Pirates.
Ajax spokesman Alexander Bertin Basson earlier claimed want-away defender Rivaldo Coetzee was staying, but it later emerged he was off to Sundowns.
AmaZulu
It was a quiet week for Usuthu. Coach Cavin Johnson told Sowetan that he was satisfied with his squad and was certain that there will be no any other player movement after his defender Ayabulela Konqobe joined Chippa United in a deal which saw Chilli Boyz’s striker Rhulani Manzini joining the Durban club last week.
Baroka
Siphelele Ntshangase was Baroka’s last signing, according to Bakgaga chairman Khurishi Mphahlele.
Ntshangase joined from Black Leopards last week. Mphahlele stated yesterday that his team was not interested in lastminute deals.
Bidvest Wits
Since announcing the signing of Egyptian striker Amr Gamal last week, the university club had not made any new additions.
The future of Phakamani Mahlambi was unclear after his return from unsuccessful trials at Portuguese side Victoria de Guimaraes, with Mamelodi Sundowns reportedly interested in him.
Bloemfontein Celtic
On Tuesday, Celtic welcomed Zimbabwean international defender Ronald Pfumbidzai, who signed a three-year deal. He joined from CAPS United of Harare.
Cape Town City
City lost Lebogang Manyama to Turkey side Konyaspor but said they were happy with their squad and did not add any new signings.
Chippa United
The club confirmed the signing of former Amajita captain Ayabulela Konqobe this week and had their eye on making one last-minute signing. Chippa communications manager Luthando Zibeko said the management wanted to finalise one or two last unnamed recruits before last night’s deadline.
Free State Stars
Ea Lla Koto will still have a chance to sign trialist Cheslyn Jampies, because he’s not affected by the close of the transfer window. The same goes for Edward Manqele, who’s also training with the team.
The deal for Guinea international Bengali Keita had not been confirmed at the time of writing. General manager Rantsi Mokoena could only say that the club were nearly done with their transfer business.
Lamontville Golden Arrows
In what might prove to be their biggest signing this transfer window, Abafana Bes’thende acquired the services of Bidvest Wits winger Jabulani Shongwe. Arrows also confirmed they have signed winger Yusuf Jappie.
Kaizer Chiefs
Chiefs’ spokesman Vina Maphosa said his club would only make announcements regarding new players when they have managed to agree with the involved parties. Amakhosi had been reported to be interested in Leo Castro of Sundowns.
Mamelodi Sundowns
The African champions’ attentions in the last few weeks were focused on landing Jeremy Brockie from SuperSport United but ended up swooping for Rivaldo Coetzee instead.
Sundowns communications manager Thulani Thuswa had no assurances that the Brockie deal would be concluded before last night’s deadline.
Maritzburg United
Yesterday, defender Kwanda Mngonyama re-signed with the Team Choice from Sundowns on a permanent threeyear contract. The 23-year-old Durbanite had had an unsuccessful return to Sundowns, whom he had joined in 2012 as youth player.
Orlando Pirates
In the last week the Buccaneers did not make any new additions but did announce the departure of defender Patrick Phungwayo.
Platinum Stars
Yesterday, Stars pipped AmaZulu to the signature of Bonginkosi Ntuli. The bulky Sundowns striker from Pietermaritzburg will be on loan for the third season at Dikwena.
Polokwane City
City this week signed former Pirates midfielder Donald Makondelela on a three-year deal after trials.
City spokesman Vusi Mtimane also confirmed the arrival of Sthembiso Hlophe and Reginald Mhlanga from lower league outfit African All Stars.
SuperSport United
Matsatsantsa earlier in the week signed Nigerian international Azubuike Egwuekwe from Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura.
On the other hand, they have been clinging onto Jeremy Brockie in an attempt to block a move to Sundowns.
