Revoke licences and blacklist teachers who have sex with learners

-

Every educator that has a sexual relationship with a pupil should be blacklisted.

When parents send their children to school, they are sending them with one common purpose, which is to learn – and nothing else.

As a parent there is nothing more frustrating and embarrassing than to hear that your daughter was impregnated by an educator.

Educators must be role models for our children, in and outside school. Teachers should see pupils as their own children, not as sexual partners.

Unfortunately, there are some wicked, perverted educators within the educational system who are rotten to the core and they do not belong in the teaching environment.

The body that regulates their profession must revoke their licences and they must not be allowed to stand before our children again.

When the KwaZulu-Natal teachers’ scandals surfaced, I found myself shivering.

At least 30 learners were reported to have had unprotected sex with their educators and were subsequently impregnated.

The educators might be HIV positive and might have infected our future leaders.

Blacklisting of these educators by the body regulating their profession is recommended.
